Support Ongoing Efforts

A Bit About Zoe

My career has been dedicated to serving children struggling with autism and their families. I became a licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in 2005. I was drawn to the field of social work and working with children with autism because of my love for children and a family history of learning differences and mental health challenges. I hope that through my work with families of children on the autism spectrum, I will be able to help them receive the support they needed to thrive and succeed in life.

I began my work with children on the autism spectrum in Los Angeles, CA over 25 years ago. I have my bachelor's degree in child development and psychology from California State University, Northridge; and received my master's degree in international social work and social administration from Columbia University in New York.

Currently, I have the privilege of supporting families and their toddlers and young children in my home state of New Mexico, where I was born and raised. I have also worked with families and trained providers in New York, Los Angeles, Oregon, Colorado, New Jersey, Massachusetts, and Tennessee. In addition, I have also had the opportunity to support children, families, and providers internationally in Mexico, Kenya, Sweden, and the United Arab Emirates.

In 2005, I founded Bright Futures: Autism and Early Intervention, LLC to help families identify, access, and manage high-quality home, community, and school-based services for their toddlers and young children struggling with autism. I use Zoom as well as Instagram, YouTube, and Facebook to try and ensure access to services, even in the most rural communities.

What a Consultation can Provide

Individual Consultation focuses on empowering families of toddlers and young children struggling with autism. My goal is to make sure that families have the knowledge they need to make the best decisions for their children. This knowledge helps families understand autism in general. It helps them identify what educational and medical services their children might need. It will also help them to advocate for access to services. And finally, I provide families with the knowledge they need to successfully manage the services their children are receiving to ensure they are high quality and effective. Whether families are in the process of figuring out if they should be concerned about autism or whether they are trying to access autism-specific support, I will help make the path clear, manageable, and successful. I am here to provide the support you need to rest assured that your child is getting what he or she needs to thrive and succeed in life.

Yo hablo español.

Autism Evaluations for Children Under 5

Understanding why a young child is struggling is essential to ensuring her/his/their needs for support are being met. It is known that an early evaluation and high-quality support through insurance and school are critical to ensuring the brightest future possible for a young person. I offer evaluations that determine whether a child is having challenges that would qualify them for a diagnosis of autism. With an autism diagnosis families are able to better understand their children’s needs and are able to access autism-specific home-based, community-based, and school-based services.
